Explanation:

The intrusion on a person’s attention by unwanted and unauthorized text, noise, images or other distractions.

Usage:

The construction work has been going on for a while and the constant noise has given me a nastier case of attention theft.

The Internet is the worst polluter of all. Spam isn’t even pollution, it is attention theft
